What does a load test actually cost?

Compare a typical cloud test in your AWS account vs. a SaaS competitor.

Your AWS cost (BYO-AWS)
$1.50
EC2 on-demand, billed directly to your AWS account
Pure-SaaS at $0.15/VUH
$750
k6 Cloud, LoadRunner Cloud, WebLOAD PAYG
You save
$748.50
per test
~500× cheaper

AWS cost figures use current US-East c5 instance pricing and assume thread-per-VU HTTP testing. Your actual cost will depend on instance type, region, and test profile. Browser-based VU tests cost ~10× more across all providers.

Frequently asked questions

Is the free desktop tier really free? What's the catch?

Yes. No credit card, no email gate, no time limit. The free tier includes the full HTTP recorder, the ASM correlation engine, the AI test-case assistant (with your own API key), and local playback.

The only things you can't do on the free tier are: run cloud-scale tests from EC2, and generate AI consultant-grade DOCX reports. Both are unlocked on the paid annual plans.

How many VUs can I run from my desktop?

It depends on your network and the system you're testing. Typical desktop loads run 50–400 VUs comfortably. Cloud execution exists for higher scale and IP diversity, not because the desktop is artificially limited.

Do you offer monthly billing?

No. Our annual plans start at $4,990.

For short evaluation, the free desktop tier covers most needs. If you need cloud-only for a few days, RedLine13 or LoadView may suit you better — we don't compete in that segment.

Do you offer discounts?

No. Our pricing is published and uniform — every customer pays the same. We don't negotiate, and we don't run quarterly specials. The price you see is the price.

How does BYO-AWS work?

You grant us an IAM role in your AWS account. When a cloud test starts, we provision EC2 load engines into your account using that role. When the test ends, we tear them down.

You see the EC2 charges directly on your AWS bill — typically $1–$5 for a moderate test. We don't mark up the infrastructure.

What if I outgrow my tier mid-year?

Pro-rated upgrade. Move from Solo to Team (or Team to Scale) at any time; we credit the unused portion of your current plan against the new one.

Can I import existing JMeter scripts?

Pending product decision — placeholder for now.
